Endodontics (Root Canal)

Healthy tooth and tooth with abscessDecay that is left untreated can progress to infect the tooth's soft core (dental pulp). Years ago, teeth with diseased or injured pulps were removed.

Today, root canal treatment has given us a safe way of saving teeth. When the pulp is diseased or injured and can't repair itself, the tooth dies. Germs can cause infection inside your tooth.

Left without treatment pus builds up at the root tip, in the jawbone, forming a "pus-pocket" called an abscess. A root canal procedure removes the pulp of the tooth. When the infected pulp is not removed, pain and swelling can result, and/or certain byproducts of the infection can injure your jaw bones. Without treatment your tooth may have to be removed. We perform all types of root canal work in our office. New technology has made root canals faster and much easier on the patient. If some form of relaxation therapy is necessary, our staff and facilities are trained and licensed.
